CUMIS and Co-operators are committed to Canada’s credit unions

Community-centric values

We are partly owned by the credit union system and we share cooperative values. We are dedicated to building a thriving ecosystem with shared governance and a community-centric focus, investing in sustainability and innovation to benefit our partners and communities.

Fostering resilience

We provide diverse support to credit unions nationwide, enhancing resilience for members, employees, institutions, and communities through comprehensive insurance, wealth, and risk mitigation solutions.

Empowering growth

We are diversifying into third-party financial institutions and distribution channels to drive business growth, investing more to support credit unions and deliver financial security to Canadians.

Empowering communities around us

Through our initiatives, we strive to uplift the communities we serve, especially those within the credit union network.

We protect a sum of $24 billion in loans nationally through our entire credit union network (as of December 2023).

In the last decade, we’ve provided over $1.6 billion in compensation and claim payments to credit unions and their members.

We have relationships with 194 credit unions, serving more than 6 million members.

In 2023, a total of $5.7 million was distributed as member loyalty payments.
